lipstick, life +

about me!
Lipstick Dawna
I want to tell you a little about myself in hopes there is something about me you can relate to. Hopefully, something that I might know or have experienced that would make your life better. I’ve lived in big cities and in the country. I’ve raised pigs and worked as a farm hand where I plowed for a summer job. I don’t mind baiting my own hook when fishing and would prefer bare feet over shoes anytime. But, there is another side to me as well. If I had the money to spend on as many massages as I wanted I know I would be addicted to them. Lipstick is an absolute must for me! You could easily catch me anywhere, anytime, with a tube of lipstick in hand. Oh, and I can’t stand it when my hair is flat!
A few of the things that bring me joy are decorating, baking, traveling, entertaining, traveling and helping others find joy in life and being overcomers. I love to decorate on a budget. I think the budget part is probably a good thing. I definitely see treasure in most people’s trash. I will paint absolutely anything. I even painted my coffee maker! It looks great! I enjoy planting flowers and find it relaxing to water them. I love baking and consider it art. I don’t bake as much these days because I am the only one at home that will eat it. Boy, will I eat it! Every last drop! Pretty dishes and tablescapes put a huge smile on my face. I absolutely love to have others over for parties, dinner and tea. I can’t forget traveling. I like traveling for fun and relaxation at beautiful locations with beautiful accommodations. But, even more than wonderful accommodations are meeting local people and experiencing their culture. I was a teacher and an administrator for 29 years. One of my strengths was helping students and adults be successful. I am featured in an educational book, Living Faithfully, The Transformation of Washington School, which opened doors for me in the world of education. I enjoy consulting with educators and parents on education topics. My spiritual life is important to me. I love God. I have done life with God and without God. I never want to go back to doing life without him!I think I have a gift for seeing a person’s strengths. It helped me be a good leader as a principal. A few times in my personal life it has cost me but for the most part I consider it a gift. Oh, and I absolutely love being over 50! I will elaborate more on that another time. This scratches the surface. I look forward to sharing more in the near future. Maybe we will connect and I can help to bring good thoughts or a smile to your day.
